Who is this course for?

 
This course is designed for anyone:
BULLET Currently working as a Door Supervisor Wishing to become a Door Supervisor
BULLET Joining the sector after working in other Security areas
BULLET Security Officers working on licensed premises
(i.e. in a supermarket that sells alcohol)
BULLET Staff responsible for controlling entry to licensed premises

 

Why should I take this course?

 
Since the 11th April 2005 it has been a legal requirement for anyone working as
a Door Supervisor, or a Security Officer, on licensed premises throughout England
and Wales to be licensed by the SIA. Anyone found to be working without an SIA
licence as a Door Supervisor, after these dates faces a fine of up to £5,000 and/or
6 months imprisonment.

 

What does the course cover?

 
Our Door Supervisors course is a 4 day program that meets the SIA’s training
requirements, and will enable successful candidates to go on to apply for their SIA
Door Supervision Licence. The course covers a wide range of subjects as required
under the Private Security Act 2001, the main areas covered on the course include:
BULLET The Role and Responsibility of the Door Supervisor
BULLET Licensing Law
BULLET Civil and Criminal Law
BULLET Health and Safety
BULLET Drugs Awareness
BULLET Searching Procedures
BULLET Reporting and Recording Incidents
BULLET Conflict Management

 

Do I have to take an exam to pass the course?

 
Yes, there a two exams on the course, on days two and four. These exams are both
multiple choice style and candidates need to pass both exams in order to successfully
complete the course.
 

Will I get a certificate if I pass?

 
Yes. Once the exams are independently marked, which takes about two weeks, you
will receive a nationally recognised certificate issued by either the NOCN or the BIIAB,
depending upon which course you selected.

 

Which course should I choose?

 
RTC offer you a choice of awarding bodies with which to do your Door Supervisors
training course, both of whom are nationally recognised. You can select to do a course
that is accredited with either:
